Save My Home From Foreclosure - Avoiding Foreclosure and Taking Matters Into Your Own Hands

If you are in danger of losing your home through foreclosure chances are you are very scared right now. The thought of losing your house and the emotional and financial devastation can be overwhelming. The phone keeps ringing every day and the letters from your mortgage company keep on coming and you have no idea how you’re going to get out of this situation.

You search for answers to your questions and try to come up with a solution for how to prevent the loss of your home from foreclosure. Who do you trust and who can really help you? You hear horror stories about people getting ripped off by scam artists who have fleeced them for hundreds if not thousands of dollar. People who were hoping to keep their house and avoid foreclosure.

I know that when I began to fall behind on my mortgage I didn’t know where to turn. I didn’t want to call the mortgage company. They were the people that were going to take my house! I didn’t trust anyone. I didn’t trust the credit counselors or the third party negotiators who said they were there to help me to keep the mortgage company from taking my house. I didn’t trust anyone.

At first I just tried to deny that it was happening and told myself that things would get better and that I could get back on track. I told myself that I could figure a way out of this stuff so I started to do a little research online. The information that I found made little sense to me and it really didn’t tell me what I wanted to know.

I wanted to know how I could keep my house and avoid going through a foreclosure. I had pretty much figured that I could turn over my house to the mortgage company or that I could sell it. This wasn’t what I wanted! I wanted to keep my house. I just needed some time to figure out how I could make some more money and get caught back up on my mortgage payments.

Nowhere could I find the kind of information that I was looking for so I sort of had to take matters into my own hands and figure out what I could do to avoid the foreclosure. I talked with people who worked for different mortgage companies and also people who worked for foreclosure attorneys. Armed with this information I was able to keep the mortgage company at bay and buy myself enough time to come up with a plan.

I’m not going to lie to you and say that it was easy to avoid the foreclosure and to work with the mortgage company but I will say that I was able to avoid losing my home through foreclosure. I was able to work with the mortgage company all on my own to keep my house from going into foreclosure.

Save My Home From Foreclosure - The Fear of Foreclosure - This Is No Way To Live

Is the bank threatening to foreclose on your house and you’re overwhelmed with fear as you wonder what you can do to save your home from foreclosure? Are you unable to sleep or eat or concentrate on much more than what you can do to avoid foreclosure? Are you confused over what your options are and what you should do? It really can be enough to make a person want to throw up their hands and just want to walk away from the whole situation.

I know that this was what it was like for me. Each day the calls from the mortgage company came in and every day my mailbox had notices reminding me that I was in default on my mortgage and would be facing foreclosure. I had honestly thought of simply packing up my belongings and just driving away to start a new life somewhere else. I was going to be homeless in a few months anyhow if the mortgage company went through with the foreclosure like they were threatening.

The turning point for me occurred one weekend when my son came to visit with me. Watching him pick flowers in the back yard of my house gave me the strength to actually stand up and begin to do something about the impending foreclosure. I wanted my boys to be able to continue to play in their yard. I didn’t want anyone else’s kids playing in their yard and I decided that I wasn’t going to allow the mortgage company to foreclose on me without a fight.

After my son went home I began researching my options. I searched for a way to avoid foreclosure and keep my house without having to risk going through one of the hard money lenders and without doing a short sale. I wanted to come out the other side of my foreclosure nightmare with my home intact and all my bills being paid on time. So I searched the internet late into the night for advice on how to avoid foreclosure.

Most of the offers for free books on how to avoid foreclosure where just scams where I would enter my name and email address in and never get a thing. Well, I should correct that. I did receive a lot of wonderful spam from tons of companies that wanted to help me to refinance my mortgage for a fee and avoid foreclosure. Personally, I don’t trust too many people and given that there are a lot of scam artists out there looking to make a quick buck off of people in my position I passed and just grew steadily more and more frustrated.

Long story short, I contacted an old friend who worked as a paralegal for a foreclosure attorney. I was embarrassed to call her and ask for her help but I was desperate. With the information that she gave me I was able to get the mortgage company to work with me. She told me what to say, who to say it to and exactly how to say it. By combining this information with an action plan to get myself back on my feet financially I was able to save my home from foreclosure.

I won’t tell you that it was an easy process and it might have been easier just to walk away but this wasn’t what I wanted for myself or my children. My home was the biggest and best investment I had ever made and I wasn’t going to allow the bank to foreclose on me without at least trying… and my plan worked for me and it might for you too.

Save My House From Foreclosure - Have You Fallen Behind On Your Mortgage?

Have you fallen behind on your mortgage payments and your mortgage company is threatening to foreclose on you and take your house away? Are you freaking out wondering how you’re ever going to dig yourself out of this hole? Do you feel like throwing your hands up and just letting the bank take your house because you have no idea what to do?

You search for information and guidance but you can’t seem to find any really good information that will allow you to keep your house without going through bankruptcy. All you need is a little more time and some breathing room to figure out how to get back on track. You want to pay your mortgage but the money just isn’t there and you’re at a loss for what to do. Any information that you find is from lawyers or refinance specialist who are wanting money for their services and you’re afraid of getting scammed.

I know that for me, when the walls started closing in, I couldn’t find the kind of advice I was looking for. There were books out there written by lawyers that cost as much as I spend in two weeks on groceries. They were filled with all sorts of paperwork and forms that I could fill out to stop the impending foreclosure. But I didn’t want to have to file any paperwork. I just wanted someone to stop the mortgage company from taking my house!

I was at my wits end and felt like giving up. I just wanted someone to tell me what to say and what to do to get the mortgage company to see my side of things and to get them to stop calling me and asking me for money that I didn’t have right now. I couldn’t concentrate on anything else. I couldn’t sleep at night. I couldn’t eat. I just wanted to run away.

It was my children that were the motivating factor in getting me to do something to stop my foreclosure and made me do something to keep the bank from taking my home. My kids loved playing in that yard and those front steps were ours to sit and blow bubbles on. I wasn’t going to let the mortgage company foreclose on me and I was desperate to do something about it.

I reached out to a few people I knew that worked in the mortgage industry and an old dear friend that worked as a paralegal for a foreclosure attorney for help. It was there that I got the information that I was looking for. It was from these people that I learned what to say, who to say it to and how to say it to get the help that I wanted and needed. I was able to get the mortgage company to see things from my point of view and was able to climb out of this deep dark place and avoid becoming homeless and having my credit completely destroyed by a foreclosure.

Thanks to these people and the advice that they gave me, completely off the record, I was able to avoid foreclosure and having the mortgage company auction off my house at a sheriff’s sale. I couldn’t have done it myself and before that I was at the mercy of the collections people without a leg to stand on.
